A Blue-tiful Way to Explore Barcelona: The Blue Route Tour Bus
Hey there, fellow travelers! As a seasoned explorer of the vibrant city of Barcelona, I can tell you that there’s no better way to see the city than by hopping on the Blue Route of the Hop-on Hop-off tour bus. With this tour, you’ll get to experience the city’s unique blend of modernity and history, all while taking in breathtaking views of the city’s stunning architecture and famous landmarks.
The Blue Route covers a different part of the city than the Red Route, so it’s a great way to explore areas that you might not have otherwise seen. The tour covers a total of 13 stops, starting at the iconic Plaça Catalunya and making its way to the popular waterfront area of Port Vell. Some of the other stops include the famous Sagrada Familia, the Poble Espanyol open-air museum, and the renowned Camp Nou stadium.
One of my favorite stops on the Blue Route is the stunning Park Guell. Designed by the famous architect Antoni Gaudi, this park is a must-see for any visitor to Barcelona. It’s filled with vibrant colors, unique designs, and stunning views of the city. Take a stroll through the park and be sure to snap some photos to remember your visit.
Another popular stop on the tour is the Gothic Quarter, a historic neighborhood that’s filled with narrow streets, quaint shops, and charming cafes. It’s the perfect place to wander and get lost for a few hours, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling city.
The Blue Route operates every day of the year, with buses running every 15-20 minutes. The first bus departs from Plaça Catalunya at 9:00 am, with the last bus departing at 8:00 pm. The full tour takes approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, but you can hop on and off at any stop along the way.
Tickets for the Blue Route can be purchased online or at any of the tour bus stops. Prices start at €30 for a 1-day pass and €40 for a 2-day pass. Children under the age of 4 ride for free.
If you’re planning to take the tour, I highly recommend downloading the tour bus app. It’s a great way to keep track of the bus schedule, see where the buses are in real-time, and even get some interesting facts and trivia about the city as you ride along.
So there you have it, fellow travelers – the Blue Route of the Hop-on Hop-off tour bus is a must-do activity for anyone visiting Barcelona. Whether you’re a history buff, an architecture enthusiast, or just looking to take in some stunning views of the city, this tour has something for everyone. I hope you enjoy your visit to this amazing city, and as always, happy travels!
